Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Drivers taking Interstate 45 Pierce Elevated through the city center can expect delays as crews work to clean up the scene.

On Wednesday afternoon, Houston police posted on Twitter for drivers to use alternate routes and avoid the Highway 45 piers hike after two accidents. One crash involved 18 wheels. But police said accidents closed lanes in both directions.
It was not clear what caused the accident or whether anyone was injured. HPD did not say how long it would take to scan the scene.
If you are driving from the north, we urge you to use I-10 East to Interstate 59 South. Anyone driving from the south, police said, uses Interstate 59 North.
